I recently tried 3CATEA, a cat-themed tea house that opened two months ago in City of Industry, California. Walking in, I was instantly drawn to the cat seat cushions and the spacious, pink and marble interior.

Compared to most boba shops, their menu is limited. But they do offer a good selection of specialty drinks, like avocado tea or matcha with cheese mousse. They’re also known for their souffles, which looks like a fluffier version of pancakes.

Expecting to get the matcha souffle with red bean, I ordered the Ceylon milk tea with amber boba to accompany it. However, the cashier said the souffle would take 30 minutes, so my friend and I just ordered drinks and left.
3CATEA doesn’t offer non-dairy options, but they do use organic milk, which I thought was interesting. The Ceylon milk tea wasn’t too sweet and the amber boba was chewy and light in flavor.
Overall, I liked 3CATEA. It’s not my favorite place to grab a milk tea, but I’d definitely go again to try a souffle or even a fruit tea. But, I will keep in mind that a souffle takes 30 minutes to make. 3CATEA is a good spot for chatting with friends over pretty, but pricey, dessert.
