Add Tea to Your Beauty Routine

in Beauty, Tea on 18/10/19

About to begin my beauty routine! (Photo by me)

When people think about tea, they usually think about drinking it. But, have you ever thought about applying tea onto your face or even in your hair?

It may sound a bit odd, but believe it or not, tea has many beneficial characteristics that could help improve the quality of your skin, brighten tired eyes and replenish dry or damaged hair.

If you want to amp up your beauty routine, try some of these tea-infused beauty tricks.

Green Tea

Green tea is a great tool for protecting your skin. For starters, simply drinking a hot cup of green tea can actually help you prevent or fight the chances of skin cancer.

As for a beauty hack, you can apply green tea bags directly to your eyes (with them closed of course), to help reduce and soothe any puffiness. This should leave you looking more refreshed and energized, which is perfect for sleepy mornings.

If you rather keep your tea bags in your cup of tea, buy a green tea sheet mask. Set a timer for 20 minutes, relax and let the face mask fully absorb into your skin. The green tea sheet mask should have a hydrating effect, giving you a glowing, dewy finish.

Black Tea

In the beauty world, black tea can be a lifesaver. It’s made up of nourishing ingredients, like vitamin B2, C & E.

If you’re suffering from dull, dead hair, rinsing your hair with black tea could bring it back to life. Black tea stimulates hair growth, prevents fallout and can even add shine back to your hair.

It also prevents signs of pre-mature aging in your skin. If you’re interested in preserving your skin, try Fresh’s black tea infused anti-aging eye cream. As someone who wears a moderately heavy amount of makeup regularly and rubs my eyes daily with makeup wipes, I make sure to include this cream in my nighttime skin care routine. It helps to protect my eyes from appearing tired, as well as forming any lines or wrinkles.

Rose Tea

In my skincare routine, products with rose tea is essential. This sweet smelling tea is packed with antioxidants such as vitamin C and E, which fights signs of aging and helps keep your skin appearing toned and healthy.

I especially like using Fresh’s rose face mask. The mask is made up of a blend of different teas, rose water and includes bits of real rose petals. It’s also super hydrating and soothing.
