Hi lovelies,
Since my last post, a few things have changed. For one, I’m back in Southern California and just moved into my first ever apartment! I’m currently living with three other girls who I am super close with and I’m so excited for all the adventures, trips to Target, and girls nights we’re going to have in this upcoming year! And of course, you can definitely expect an apartment tour post soon. We’re still decorating the walls of our bedrooms and our living room doesn’t even have a couch yet, but you can totally watch the process through my Insta story (@heyitseliz) since I’ve been posting decor updates there!

Definitely need to add some color to my walls! Should I get some posters or a tapestry? Hmm..

Being back in SoCal means school is finally starting for me. I am definitely not looking forward to all the late night study sessions or the anxiety that comes from exams, but I am thankful to have some structure and routine back in my life. Lately, I have been obsessed with watching morning/night routines and meal prep videos, so I am planning to incorporate some of the tips I’ve accumulated into my actual everyday life. Maybe I’ll even post my own routine or a “Day in the life” type of thing?
I also recently finished the book Eat, Pray, Love and I’m adding it to my All Time Faves book list. It was such a good read and felt sort of life changing. Elizabeth Gilbert’s journey has inspired and motivated me to take my yoga practice more seriously and to understand the importance of meditation. I was also completely in love with her style of writing, since it felt relatable to me and resembled my own journal entries. However, I watched the movie and was a bit disappointed with it, but I mean in general, the book is always better than the movie! (Ok but James Franco was perfectly casted as David and it broke my heart seeing her say goodbye to him. But TBH, if it were me, I’d drag him with me to India so we could meditate together, which is completely beside the point of the book, but it’s James Franco!)

“Whatever the feeling is- this is what I have been praying for. And this is also what I have been praying to.”
Now, I shall end this short and sweet blog post with some of the things I’ve been loving lately!
Beauty
This face mask is life. It’s incredibly light and literally smells like roses. I have been using it every night after I shower, since I love how soft, clean and moisturized this mask leaves my skin. It’s a bit pricey, but if you’re looking for a great mask to invest in, I highly recommend this one!
Music
I’ve had the band LANY‘s debut self-titled album on repeat since it came out. I am completely obsessed with every song, every melody, and every lyric. I even bought a ticket for their upcoming tour and I am so excited!
Lorde is a queen and Melodrama is art. Every song on her latest album feels like it was stolen straight out of the pages of my journal. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite albums ever, of any artist.
Um, I cannot skip Harry Styles‘ self titled album! It’s been out for a while, as well as LANY and Lorde’s albums, but I still listen to it almost everyday. I recently watched him at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and it was my first time seeing him live as a solo artist, and I was totally entertained and amazed by him.
Books
Simon VS. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Abertalli is definitely a must read for all fans of YA books, especially of the romance genre. In just the first chapter, I had already fallen in love with Simon’s personality and narrations. The main characters’ interactions are told through a series of emails, each one filled with lots of adorable charm, wit, and of course, flirting. The book has a movie adaption coming out next year, starring two of my favorite actors, Nick Robinson and Keinynan Lonsdale!
After reading Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch, I immediately wanted to take a trip to Italy and fall in love with a boy as cute as the character, Ren. This book was a lot more emotional and drama-filled than I thought it would be and is so much more than a basic romance novel. Warning: you will crave lots and lots of pasta and gelato while reading this novel.
xoxo,
Eliz
