2016 has been quite a crazy year. It took me forever to compile this list, since i had a thousand photos to go through and a ton of great memories to choose from. But here are my top ten favorite moments of this year, in chronological order as they happened.
1. Launched heyitseliz.com
Throughout 2015, I constantly found myself wishing I had a blog. So, once 2016 began, I worked hard to create one. I brainstormed topics to write about, spent forever drafting different blog names, looked at a billion templates, and watched a ton of tutorials. I learned how to install widgets, how to maintain my blog, and how to make it look the way I wanted it to. And I kept it private for a while. I didn’t tell everyone “hey, I’m starting a blog!”, because I didn’t know anyone who had one. Randomly one night, I published my first post and told everyone on Instagram that I had started a blog. I didn’t know what kind of reactions to expect. I didn’t know if anyone was going to care about it or even want to read any of my posts. But I didn’t care. I was proud of myself and what I was doing. This was my #girlboss moment.
2. GALentine’s Day
I celebrated my favorite day, GALentine’s Day, with Mary Kay! I hosted a party celebrating female friendship/girl power, with facials, makeovers, and lots of desserts.
3. Senior Prom
I danced all night with my best friends, wore a crazy amount of highlight, and spun for hours in a pretty pink dress.
4. Grad Nite
Three theme parks in three days with my best friends.
5. Graduated High School
My family threw me an amazing graduation party, complete with gold balloons, embarrassing throwback photos, and a macaron tower. (I cannot have a party without macarons!)
6. Went Blonde!
I felt like I needed change. So I dyed my hair blonde. I don’t regret it a single bit.
7. Moved to Pomona
Moving to SoCal for college was extremely scary. I was terrified that I was going to hate LA and that I wouldn’t make any friends. But, I can honestly say I’m happy in Pomona (although I am stressed like literally all the time). I’m making awesome memories and learning a lot about myself.
8. Meeting my roommate and JAME
I’m so happy I met these girls! I’d honestly be miserable in college without my awesome roomie Danielle, and Joe, Mel, and Ash! We’ve only known each other for a few months, but I feel like I’ve known them forever!
9. One Direction Wax Figures, London
I’m the biggest One Direction fan ever (if you don’t believe it, I will gladly prove you wrong), so this was definitely one of my fave moments!
10. Paris Trip
My Paris trip was honestly magical and felt like a dream.
Those are my top ten moments of 2016! Although, many people believe 2016 has been the worst year ever, I choose to spend today, looking back at the positive things that have happened. I hope you choose to do the same. 2016 has definitely been an interesting year and hopefully 2017 is even better!
For the last time in 2016,
