Hello! I’m writing from my super cozy dorm room, because I finally moved into my college! As you may already know, I’m from the bay area. But, I’m attending college in Southern California!
I moved into my “new home” a week ago, and almost passed out due to dehydration! The weather here is like a billion degrees hotter than in the bay. But I’m fine now, and always seen carrying a water bottle!
I’ve had a busy week and want to give you guys a little photo diary recap of my first week of college!
So this is my dorm room! As you can see, I’ve hung tassels, pictures, and postcards on the board that came with my dorm. The postcards are cute messages from my friends and family! I also have a ginormous shelf above my bed, that I often forget is there, until I accidentally hit my head on it… But in my shelf, I have a lit letter E, some books, and a framed photo. The bottom shelf is unfinished, and I plan on filling it with succulents (to bring a little more life to my room!)
My roomie and I also have this board outside our room, where we put up our instagram names and have a daily motivational quote! We get a lot of compliments on it!
Other than my dorm room, the Japanese Garden is another favorite spot of mine on campus. It’s so calm and peaceful, and is the perfect place to wait for your next class or even study!
Although I am at school for an education, my favorite thing about college is all of the freedom and how close my campus is to Los Angeles! My school is 30 minutes away from LA, without traffic. My roommate and I have already gone to LA twice, and have a list of cool “blogger” spots to check out! So far, we have done LACMA (aka the iconic white lamps), Urth Cafe, Koreatown, Alfred Tea Room (the cutest pink tea shop on the planet!), and went thrifting on Melrose!
Also, shoutout to my super cool roomie, Danielle (daniellexclothes on insta!) for always being down for spontaneous adventures with me and for understanding the importance of getting cute candid outfit pics!
Alfred Tea Room has really good rose milk tea! Their boba is also a lot better than Urth’s! (But Urth does have good blended matcha milk tea!)
Everything at Taste on Melrose is $6 during happy hour! I love the food and the vibe!
This drink place, Zero X, isn’t actually in LA, but it’s five minutes away from my campus! If you’re in the Pomona area, I highly suggest you check this place out and order the strawberry lychee drink!
I love Southern California’s vibe, although I do miss the weather in the Bay Area! I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of differences between NorCal and SoCal, and I’m still trying to get used to the lack of the word “hella” being said around me and the constant modeling in front of every wall in LA. (Yes, like there’s actual photoshoots happening in every corner!)
As for my blogging, I have a busy college schedule, but I am still trying to make time for my blog posts! LA is the perfect city for a blogger like me, since there’s so many sights to see and picturesque insta-worthy places to check out! I’m so happy to be here and so happy I have you guys with me!
I can’t wait to share more blog worthy college and SoCal adventures with you all! Make sure to follow my social medias so you never miss a post!
