Okay, I did it. I caved in and finalllyyyyy tried some ColourPop products.
ColourPop is super popular at the moment, and is promoted by beauty bloggers everywhere. I spent hours scrolling through lip swatch posts on Pinterest and watched dozens of videos on YouTube to find the right liquid lipsticks to purchase. Fortunately, ColourPop is super affordable, so I wasn’t hesitant about buying multiple products. Each Liquid lipstick is only $6! Yes, $6! I ended up getting one ultra satin liquid lipstick, 4 mattes, and 1 lip liner.
When I first received my products, I noticed the super cute packaging right away. The handwritten notes and holographic vibe made me excited to test out my lipsticks! I also really appreciated how adorable the messages were!
Now on to my first impressions of these products! Just a heads up, I noticed that the lipsticks look different on EVERYONE. I bought these colors based on reviews I saw online, and when I tried them on, they looked completely different on myself than it did on others. Since ColourPop is affordable, experimenting with multiple products is key when purchasing these lipsticks since they are either a hit or miss.

Left to Right: Frick ‘n Frack, Rooch, Teeny Tiny, Beeper, Tulle
As a liquid lipstick virgin, I was terrified to try this matte liquid lipstick. I didn’t know what to expect. I had no clue how dark it would be on me, if it would dry my lips out, or how to even neatly apply this product. However, I was surprised by how smoothly the product glided onto my lips! The color was also much more pigmented than I thought it would be.
The website described Tulle as a dusty mauve burgundy. On my lips, it looked like a dark burgundy and definitely did not match the color of the bottle. As it dried matte, the rich color got darker and looked like a shade of light brown. I wouldn’t wear it as an everyday lip, but I still like this color!
Beeper was really similar to Tulle, it was just lighter and a little more pink. In the bottle, it seems like the color is going to be a light mauve shade, but it dried a little dark. I could see myself wearing this shade on a daily basis, since it didn’t really stand out too much. It was also totally smudge-proof & transfer-proof.
I didn’t really love this grayish-plum shade on me. When it fully dried, it looked too dark and almost gothic. I’m sure with the right makeup look I could somehow pull it off, but it’s definitely not my fave.
I’m seriously so in love with this wine red! It’s the perfect shade for Autumn and made my lips look incredibly full. The color is mostly true to the bottle and what is shown on the website. I used the Rooch pencil to keep the product neat on my lips. Sidenote: the area around my lips are smeared from removing the lipsticks from before..
This ultra satin lip was definitely true to the color in the bottle and website. I loved how natural it looked on me, how easy it was to apply, and how comfortable the formula is on my lips. I will definitely buy more ultra satin lipsticks!
So that’s my thoughts on ColourPop! Have you ever tried their products before? Which shades are your fave?
