Let’s get one thing clear: You don’t need a Valentine to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day is more than just showering your boo with a billion gifts and showing off the fact that you’re in a relationship, and it definitely shouldn’t be spent moping around if you’re not. Just because you’re single, doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself out or celebrate with the ones around you! So here’s my ideas for making the most out of your Valentine’s Day if you find yourself valentine-less.
- Throw a Valentine’s Day party for you and your best friends.
Decorate your house with cliche heart decorations, get some gossip ready, and dance the night away to Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato songs! You could also do a valentine card exchange, just like in elementary school, but with much better valentine gifts, cards and candy, of course! But, if you’re feeling a little salty over this day (I totally understand, it’s not everyone’s fave holiday..) you can plan an Anti-Valentine’s Day party! Go all out smashing a heart piñata and decorate your house with “love sucks” banners.
- Pamper yourself.
If you’re not spending money or time on someone else, spend it on yourself! Sleep in, wear your comfiest clothes, get your nails done, and end the day with your fave desserts and a relaxing bubble bath. P.S. You can also buy yourself flowers, no one’s judging.
- Netflix and Ice Cream.
So what if you don’t have anyone to Netflix and chill with? There’s so many shows you could binge watch (may I suggest Jane The Virgin or my absolute fave, The Carrie Diaries?) and a ton of chick flicks to lose yourself in. Grab a tub of ice cream and get comfortable on the couch, because Netflix is the best valentine a girl could have.
- BFF Date
No one knows you better than your besties. They know you inside and out, and are always there for you. If you happen to all be single this Valentine’s Day, spend it on a date with each other. Who says dates have to be romantic? Take some of your single guy friends too, for a very stress-free, no pressure, and completely platonic date.
No matter what your plans are this Valentine’s Day, I hope you show love to yourself and to all of the important people around you! Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, my lovelies 🙂
xoxo,
Eliz
P.S. If you happen to be in a relationship (or just love love songs like me), here’s a playlist I put together for Valentine’s Day!
