Every year, I create a bucket list… and so should you!
Having a bucket list can make you feel more excited about the year! It gives you something to look forward to, some adventures to plan, and motivates you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new.
Which is why you should totally make one! Here’s a few ideas everyone should add to their own personal 2016 bucket list:
Throw a party for a random holiday.
Ever heard of GALentine’s Day? It’s a day where girls celebrate girls. It may not be an official national holiday, but that doesn’t mean you can’t host a party for it! Start throwing parties for reasons other than your birthday or Christmas.
Keep a journal for the whole year.
Sure, you can just go on Instagram or Twitter to document your year, but journals are just ten times cooler. At the end of the year, you’ll be able to read all of of your entries and remember the stories and emotions you felt, behind the photos you posted on Instagram, Snapchat, or whatever. Instagram is just your highlight reel, but in your journal you can be as honest and detailed about each day as you want.
Try a new hobby!
Lettering, painting, filming videos, the list goes on and on. There’s so many hobbies in the world, you just have to go out and explore them. Maybe you’ll even discover a hidden talent for one!
Go to a concert or attend a music festival!
There’s nothing better than seeing your favorite artist or artists performing right in front of you. Concerts make you forget about your troubles, boost your mood, and allow you to just live in the moment. This year, you need to go to a concert, dance freely, and sing your heart out to every single song.
Chill out, and try stargazing with your friends.
This is something I recently started doing in 2015. It can relax you and make you remember how small your problems are. Not enough people ever take a moment to just go outside and stare at how pretty the stars are. It’s pretty sad, because stargazing is actually incredibly cool. Last summer, my friends and I decided to grab a blanket, play some music, and just lay underneath the stars. We were so calm and in the moment, and had some amazing conversations, since we weren’t focused on anything else. The best part? I saw my first ever shooting star. Make it one of your goals to try admiring the stars this year!
No matter what’s on your bucket list, I hope you leave your comfort zone, make a ton of great memories, and have an adventurous 2016! Make this year, your year!
xoxo,
Eliz
